New Stanford study sheds light on how much learning young students have lost during stages of the pandemic

“Stanford researchers find that reading fluency among second- and third-graders is roughly 30 percent behind what would be expected in a typical year.”

While students seemed to “flatline” with little progress in reading during the spring 2020, the students began to show growth similar to pre-pandemic years.
