‘Self-directed learning’ skills are key to making remote instruction work

“The majority of students lack the motivation they need to stay on task from home.”

Commentary: We have cultivated a school environment where students follow the school rules and teachers’ directions. The goal has always been for students to become self-directed learners. Students who have been “directed” are struggled to stay motivated but also having the opportunity to become self-directed learners.
