Parents as Allies in Reducing Absences

Several research studies investigated several ways to communicate with parents whose children had high rates of absenteeism. "Two recent studies have explored whether sending messages about attendance to parents could affect their children’s attendance." The results of the research showed, that mailing to parents increased attendance, "Even more promising, the mailings were most effective for students with the lowest attendance.
